Free workshop: Decision-Making in the IEP Process: Focus on Least Restrictive Environment
IEP teams are required to consider the general education classroom with appropriate supports and services as the first placement option for students with disabilities.
This session presents an IEP decision-making process to effectively match
the provision of supports, accommodations and modifications with students
needs within the least restrictive environment.
The following IEP components will be addressed:
- Present levels of academic achievement and functional performance
- Behavior intervention plans
- Annual measurable academic and functional goals
- Supplementary aids and services
- Supports for school personnel.
Strategies and resources that enable families and educators to work collaboratively throughout the IEP decision-making process are incorporated in the presentation.
Audience: Parents, special and general education teachers, child study team members, related services personnel – Preschool - Grade 12
